It does please me to create new things and functionality but it is more satisfying if the functionality is actually used by the people it is meant for. When sitting with our Operations head when we discussed that how much effort goes into the recharging process, it was clear that we need to find a system which ease the process of monthly recharging for both us and our customers. A good percent of our customer provide us a feedback as "Though we are quite happy with the on call recharge facility provided by you, It would be really helpful if we can recharge directly from our TV". We understand this completely this not only provides recharge anytime facility but also increases the efficiency of the service. We thought of doing something which no one else has tried before. We thought what if we provide our customers an option where they can recharge their TV directly from TV itself using their credit cards. Keeping this in mind we started the pilot of "Recharge through TV" service in Delhi.

We developed the functionality to recharge directly from TV and tested it internally for about a month before we offer this to our customers. We took all the necessary measures to create a completely secure recharging mechanism. Only after all this extensive testing we opened this functionality to our Delhi customers as a pilot, last month. The results are nothing but encouraging. In its first recharge cycle1.34 % of our prepaid user base recharged using the credit cards. When talking to our customer support team I received the feedback that most of the customers recharged using credit card on their TV would like to use this as their primary method for recharging. The marketing and support team is all upbeat and hope to take this percentage to 5 to 7 percent in next 2 months.

It really is heartening that customers are being benefited in a way that we conceived. Recharge through TV is easy. One can pay through Credit Card directly through the comfort of his home. Also since this is a well secured environment the security of you credit card is guaranteed. This demonstration link helps you understand the process. Just use the onscreen Remote and follow the steps mentioned under "Action" tab. So happy recharging and enjoy your iControl IPTV services.

Fibre To The Home ( FTTH )

We launched FTTH a few months back in Jaipur & Ajmer. The attempt was to provide better video and data service for our IPTV. The growth of our FTTH network in various buildings & complexes is tremendous. Till date we are ready with 96 buildings & complexes in Jaipur & Ajmer and are expanding more. We would be able to provide high-speed broadband access of up to 100 Mbps and a IPTV service having video on demand, bandwidth on demand, interactive gaming, and several other value added services. Since we are very familiar with the term FTTH, we do feel the urge of sharing a bit about it with you too.

FTTH, or Fiber To The Home, refers to fiber optic cable that replaces the standard copper wire of the local Telco. FTTH is desirable because it can carry high-speed broadband services integrating voice, data and video, and runs directly to the junction box at the home or building.

Traditional copper telephone wires carry analog signals generated by telephone equipment, including fax machines. The Internet utilizes a backbone of fiber optic cables capable of delivering incredible bandwidth. This inherent ability makes the Internet a prime source for advancing network technologies that can be brought to the home or business. Most subscribers, however, log on to this network through copper lines with limited capacity. This creates a bottleneck for advancing technologies that increasingly require greater bandwidth. FTTH bridges this gap.

IPTV is not the only thing you get advantage of , with such a high speed Internet multiple services are possible that too through one FTTH cable line only. In simple words the bulky, confusing and annoying web of those cables surrounding the corners of your house are no more there, one cable and multiple uses.

Well since now you are familiar with the term FTTH, let us return to what we are doing for our FTTH customers. As I said earlier, we are expanding our FTTH network. We are also promoting it with a promotion plan. We already have a well known and established IPTV service in various cities, having user friendly, easy and very helpful applications like iMall (The shopping portal), A-Tube ( The classifieds), Music, VOD, Interactive games etc. In fact our IPTV features are one of the most cool features. We provide Time shift features called Chill & Cool where you get up to last 7 days TV shows which can be viewed anytime by you and also you can pause-rewind Live TV. The TV messaging feature too is fantastic its just like mobile SMS service.

In order to know where FTTH is available you can check out FTTH enabled buildings listed on our site. We are currently also providing 15 days free trail of triple play service (i.e., Telephone, Broadband and IPTV) on FTTH network. You can call us at 1500 or sms AKSH FTTH on 54545 for the same.
